Athens Private Tours FAQ
Home > Private Tours > Athens Private Tours FAQ
This FAQ aims to address common questions regarding our private tour service, such as what makes a tour truly private, when a licensed guide is needed, what to expect on the day, and how flexible the itinerary can be.
Our prices are per car: New, Comfort air-conditioned Sedan Car (up to 4 Persons), Luxury Van (up to 7 Persons), Luxury Minibus (up to 15 or 18 persons), Coach Bus (up to 50 persons)
1. Private driver/guide and vehicle are for your exclusive use; no matter if you are by yourself, or in a family or with friends. The tour is exclusively for you without strangers.
2. The driver picks you up from the place you choose and after the end of the tour leaves you exactly where you want. (hotel, airport, ports etc)
3. You can modify the itinerary and make as many stops as you want and for any period of time.
A professional licensed guide accompanies you to museums and all archaeological sites and provides information on cultural, historical and contemporary heritage.
The drivers are not licensed to accompany you on your walk to the top of the Temple or inside any other archaeological site or museums. The professional licensed guide will accompany you to all the archaeological sites.
A moderate amount of walking is involved; comfortable shoes are recommended.
Sunscreen and hats are recommended for visits during the summer months.
You can book our Athens Private tours right from the website and reserve them there. If you wish a tailor-made tour, you can send us an email and we will be happy to create an itinerary for you.
Yes! You can extend the duration of any Athens tour in the booking form to enjoy more activities: Swimming in beautiful nearby beaches, visit areas & surrounding traditional villages, taste Greek food & wine, meet & have a good time with locals.
Yes. All of our tours remain available all year round and all hours of the day.
Since the tour is private and fully flexible, bad weather is rarely an issue — you can simply bring an umbrella and continue, or reschedule your tour to a future date if you prefer. The one exception is cruise/boat excursions, which may be cancelled entirely on the day if weather conditions don’t allow it.
Group size depends on the vehicle: Sedan (up to 4 passengers), Van (up to 7), Minibus (up to 18), or Coach Bus (up to 50). We’ll match you with the right vehicle based on your group size when booking.
Yes, our private tours are suitable for children and elderly travelers. We can also provide child seats — just let us know the ages of the children when booking.
Our drivers are local and speak English fluently. If you’d like a tour in another language, you can hire a professional licensed guide who can join you either for the full tour in the vehicle, or just at the archaeological site itself (a more affordable option if you only need guiding at the site).
Complimentary waiting time depends on your pickup location: 45 minutes for airport pickups, 30 minutes for seaport or train station pickups, and 15 minutes for hotel or apartment pickups. If you’re not at the pickup point by the end of this time, the booking may be marked as a Customer No-Show with no refund. Your driver will try to reach you by text, WhatsApp, Viber, or phone before this happens.
Gratuity is not included in the tour price and is left to your discretion. Tipping is appreciated but never expected.
Since the itinerary is fully flexible, you’re free to request stops for food, bathroom breaks, or anything else at any point during the tour — just let your driver know.
